2008 HUDSON VALLEY REGION ESG TRIALS

The tryouts for the Empire State Games will be held at the Marist College Pool on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7, 2008 - Trials will be held in a short course yards pool.

Marlins must also email Monique at bgnwmarlins@aol.com what events they will swim.
This is because we also need to enter the events on the team manager.
All information, including events and times must be the same on the registration process online as on the email..

The sooner the better. I will be away June 3-10 so don't wait!

The way to register is different than in the past, so please read the following information carefully!

NEW: This year you must register on line, to do so go to the Empire State Games website and follow the “registration” directions. Scholastic swimmers must download the parental form and get it signed in all the appropriate places. You must bring this to the trials with you. https://games.empirestategames.org/Registration

You may swim in 4 events but may qualify in only three. You must declare which three events you wish to participate in at the games by the end of the final session on Saturday. This you must do even if you are an alternate in an event.
FINALS: The finals will be held at SUNY Cortland, July 23-27, 2008. Transportation to and from the meet will be provided by the state. Lodging will be at SUNY Cortland
SCHOLASTIC AGE CUT OFF: If you are 16 on or before April 30, 2008 you must swim in the Open division. If you are not yet 16 on April 30, 2008, you must swim in the Scholastic division.
800 & 500 FREESTYLES: Swimmers in these events are responsible for having a timer and a counter.
CHECK IN: All swimmers, please, initial the check in sheet upon arrival (you must do that or you will not be allowed to swim)
FORMS: After each event the top three finishers must fill out a stat sheet.

NOTE: NO SWIMMER UNDER THE AGE OF 18 WILL BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE WITHOUT THE SIGNED PARENTAL PERMISSION FORM

DIRECTIONS:
Take Saw Mill North to 684 North (or take 684 North) to I-84 West to Exit 13 (Route 9). Marist College is located approximately 15 miles north on the left side of Route 9.
