Coach
Chris is now in his 6th season coaching with the Marlins where he is working with the novice, junior, and senior swimmers.
Chris joined the Marlins as a swimmer in 1998 and competed until 2003. During his senior season Chris’ shoulder injury severely limited his training and ability to compete on a regular basis which led him to coaching the novice swimmers. Chris proved to be an excellent coach earning the respect of the coaching staff and the love of all the swimmers with whom he worked.
After graduating from Ossining High School in 2003, Chris attended Pace University in Pleasantville which allowed him to continue working with the Marlins. While at Pace, he majored in Psychology and minored in Criminal Justice. Chris earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with Cum Laude honors from Pace University in the spring of 2007. He was awarded the Myrtle McGraw Award for outstanding academics in Psychology and inducted into the collegiate National Honor Society for Psychology. Chris was also selected to the Northeast 10 Conference All Academic First Team, Swimming and Diving team.
Currently, Chris lives in Briarcliff Manor and is working towards his Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at Pace University. In addition to coaching, he works as a research assistant to a professor in the psychology department. His efforts help to further what the field of psychology currently knows of the circumstances surrounding domestic and intimate partner violence. Come March and August, Chris will be reporting specific results of a domestic violence study, at Eastern Psychological Association’s and American Psychological Association’s Annual Conventions, as a representative of Pace University.
Chris enjoys helping swimmers recognize their full potential and work towards their personal goals. He is excited for another successful and fun season for the Marlins! Good luck!
