Coach
Dan Levy is in his fifth year coaching the Marlins. This year, he is coaching both junior and novice swimmers.
During the day, Dan is a 2nd grade teacher at Bedford Village Elementary School in Bedford, New York. After teaching and coaching, Dan heads out to his own swim practice with the Westchester Masters workout group at Pace University. He has been a masters swimmer for approximately 10 years. In 2007, he swam two lifetime bests in the 100 and 200 free.
Growing up, Dan swam for four years on the Tarrytown YMCA Swim Team and for twelve years on the Tarrycrest Swim Team. During college, he coached Tarrycrest for three years and helped bring the team from Division 5 to Division 3 in the Northern Westchester Swim Conference. Dan returned to coach Tarrycrest in 1997 for a two-year period when they were in Division 1.
Since 1999, Dan has been the coach of the Chappaqua Swim Team, where he has built the squad from a 40-member Division 3 team to a 90-member Division 1 team. CST has maintained a winning record every year since 2000, including its four years in Division 1.
This summer, a record 10 CST swimmers and 8 Marlins joined Dan for his tenth swim across the Hudson to raise money for Friends of Claire (ALS) and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Dan enjoys helping swimmers set short-term and long-term goals, work toward those goals, and celebrate reaching them. To all Marlins: Good luck, swim fast, and have fun!
