Duel in the Pool
at World Championships, helped win gold and set an
American record in the 800m free relay; also finished third in the 100m back
and 200m IM, and was fifth in the 400m IM
won his first National title in
the 400m IM and was second in the 200m back and 200m IM at World Championship
Trials; also took fourth in the 200m free and seventh in the 100m free
broke the American record in the 200y IM en route to winning his second NCAA
title; also captured his third title in the 200y back (NCAA record) and
finished second in the 100y back to be named Swimmer of the Meet. |

Won three titles at the U.S. Open in the 100m and 200m back and 400m
IM; also finished third in the 100m free and fourth in the 1500m free; named
Male High Point Award winner
earned gold on the 800m free relay, silver in
the 200 IM and bronze in the 200m free at Short Course World Championships;
also took fifth in the 100m IM
won gold swimming on the American
record-breaking 800m free relay and silver in the 200m IM at the Olympic
Games
qualified for the 2004 Olympic team in both the 200m free and the
200m IM after finishing the events in fourth and second, respectively, at
Olympic Trials; also swam the 400m IM at Trials and finished fourth
won his
first NCAA title, taking the 400m IM and breaking the American record; also
was third in the 200m IM at the NCAA Championships. |
