Marlin
Travis was a Marlin for
12 years. Throughout his entire career he has been known as one of Metropolitan Swimming
"elite performer".
As a 9 year old, Travis qualified for his first Zone all-star
team. He returned to Zones as a 10, 12, 14 and 15 year old.
As a 10 year old, Travis qualified for his first National Age
Group Top 16, finishing the year ranked 4th in the nation in the 50 free and 10th in
the 100 free. Travis proved his versatility and consistency by winning the High Point Award at the Metropolitan Junior Olympics as a 10, 12 and
14 year old, the only Marlin to accomplish this feat.
Travis qualified for his first Junior National Championship
in the 500 Free during his Junior Year. As a Senior, Travis
qualified in a Marlins' record 6 events. He qualified for every freestyle event, breaking
the team record in each. At Juniors, Travis placed in all of his events and placed top 10
in a team record three events.
During the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 short course seasons, Travis was a well liked and
respected Team Captain. At the
end of his Marlins' career, Travis was selected as the male recipient of the Metropolitan Swimming Officials Scholarship. |

At the high school level, as well as being an All-Section
standout in soccer, Travis was Section One's premier swimmer. He qualified for the New York
State Championships and earned

| All-Section honors 4 straight years. During his sophomore year, he led Yorktown High School to the Section One title. Travis was selected as a
Con-Edison Scholar Athlete Award winner
during his junior year. During both his junior and senior years, he was named The Journal News Swimmer Of The Year. As a
captain of the Section One State team,
Travis ended his high school career winning the public school state title in the 500 free,
and finishing as runner-up in the 200 free, qualifying him for All-American honors. He was selected as the
"Section One Swimmer Of The Year" and received the "Westchester
Officials Swimmer Of The Year Award" |
