Saturday, March 24:
Daniel Simco qualified 8th in the 50 back
(24.16) and finished 8th with a team record time of 23.86. Adam Powell qualified 19th in the same event (24.67). Kim Holden
finished 32nd with 27.67
In the 50 free, Adam qualified 6th with a time of 20.99 and finished in 3rd
place with a time of 20.73.
The women 400 Medley relay placed 20th (3:55.17) while the men
400 medley relay of Daniel Simco, Tristan Hastings, Anthony Simco and Adam
Powell placed 9th overall with a new team record time of 3:27.25
The Marlins finished in 19th place overall (first Metro team) and in 10th place
in the men's division.
Friday, March 23:
Daniel Simco qualified 11th in the 100 back
in a team record and US Open time of 51.21. He finished 15th with a time of
51.73.
Adam Powell qualified in 18th place
(52.12) and finished 19th with a time of 51.75.
Steffi Niessl qualified 22nd (57.95) and finished in 21st place with a time of
57.79.
Anthony and Daniel Simco swam their best 100 breaststroke times - Anthony 58.78
and Daniel 59.01
Anthony Simco qualified 7th in the 100 fly with a time of 49.90 and finished in
7th place with a time of 49.93.
Steffi Niessl
placed 20th in the prelims with a US Open time of 56.41 and finished in 18th
place with a time of 56.15.
Thursday, March 22:
Anthony and Daniel Simco qualified for the
Consolation Heat of the 50 fly - Anthony tied for 9th place (23.03) while Daniel
qualified 12th (23.13). Anthony finished 9th, breaking his own team record with
a personal best time of 22.35. Daniel finished 11th with a personal best time of
22.96.
Steffi Niessl tied for 24th in the 50 fly (26.02) - She swam a 25.77 in the
swim-off but the other girl went a little bit faster! Steffi moved up to the
Bonus final and finished 24th with a time of 26.32.
The women 800 free relay had to be scratched due to Caren's illness.
Wednesday, March 21:
The Marlins finished the day in 15th place
overall and 7th place Men Rankings.
The 200 free relay of Tristan Hastings,
Daniel Simco, Anthony Simco, and Adam Powell finished in 6th place
overall, setting new Team and
Metro records with a Top 16 Consideration time of 1:25.00
Steffi Niessl qualified 19th in the 200 back
with a personal best time of 2:03.86 and finished in 18th place with a new
personal best and US Open time of 2:03.23
Adam Powell qualified 25th in the 100 free (46.71). Due to a scratch he was able
to swim in the Bonus final and moved up to finish 18th in a personal best and
team record time of 46.08 - this time also qualifies for the USA-Swimming Summer
Junior Nationals.
Daniel Simco finished 32nd in the 200 back with a personal best time of 1:53.25
Tuesday, March 20:
Daniel Simco, Tristan Hastings, Anthony Simco
and Adam Powell won the men 200 Medley Relay with a Top 16 Consideration time of 1:33.64
setting a new Marlins and Metropolitan Record. Leading off the relay, Daniel set
a new Marlins record in the 50 backstroke 23.89
Kim Holden, Alexandra Gorki, Steffi Niessl and Caren Guyett finished 17th in the
200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:48.08
